Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance® is the world’s premier celebration of the automobile, held annually at Pebble Beach Golf Links®. Only the most beautiful and rare cars are invited to appear on the famed 18th fairway of Pebble Beach Golf Links, and connoisseurs of art and style flock to see these masterpieces. The affair has raised over $17 million for charity and includes a series of related events, 15,000 spectators attend the event.

The Challenge:

Every year, the entire Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance corporate office moves to The Lodge at Pebble Beach™ for one week to prepare for the event. Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance began searching for a new company to support its information technology systems. They needed a managed IT services provider that could pull its team together quickly and deliver a flawless performance.

The Concours began the rigorous search for a new IT provider, requesting bids from local companies. The General Manager, having heard of Adaptive Information Systems’ great reputation in the community, approached them for assessment of the situation. Adaptive Information Systems quickly put together a plan for the office relocation and ongoing IT support.

The Solution

The entire corporate office was moved to Pebble Beach Resorts® for the event. Adaptive Information Systems moved all of the staff computers and phones to the Pebble Beach Resort where the staff would conduct their operations for the next coming week while the event took place. Their entire server infrastructure was migrated to the Cloud which made their annual office relocation to Pebble Beach Resorts a breeze. We installed a wireless system that included the Media tent, Pebble Beach RetroAuto™ tent, United Way tent, Chairman’s Dinner, and the main office. Live video streaming of the auction was set up at multiple locations. The judging computer system was assembled, configured, tested and integrated with sales force. The entire system was managed by Adaptive Information Systems throughout the event.

The Results:

For the first time, the United Way tent was able to access the wireless internet and provide flawless digital ticket sales. The staff said this was the most efficient and innovative IT support the event had ever experienced. Media companies OMG, KSWB and Madden Media experienced the best network stability ever, from wired devices to fast performing WiFi coverage.

The high profile event was a success, the Concours team was thrilled, and the wireless system was flawless. Adaptive Information Systems is continuing to work with Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance to support the IT infrastructure and plan future events.

The project process exceeded our expectations and the support pre, DURING, and post was and has continued to be extraordinary.
